Shri Tejasvi Surya is the National President of the BJP’s Youth Wing, Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, since 2020. He is also the Member of Parliament from Bengaluru South constituency, having been elected to the 17th Lok Sabha at the age of just 28.

A karyakarta who started at the grassroot level, Surya has risen through the ranks by the dedication and hard work. Committed to civilizational causes & Sangathan ethos, he represents New India’s aspirations.
Born in a humble middle class family in Bengaluru, Surya got associated with the Ramakrishna Mission at an early age. Swami Vivekanada’s life and work cast a deep impact on his outlook and set him on the path of national service.
Tejasvi Surya, a small boy of nine years, raises money to support the families of Indian soldiers martyred during the Kargil War.
Right out of school, Surya founded youth advocacy organization, Arise India. He actively worked for education of children of migrant labors, supported economically weak girl children, bettering infrastructure in Government schools and many more.
With initiatives like Green India Mission, stress on improving women representation, regular training camps and ideas for reforms in Education, Surya played an active role in strengthening Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad in Bengaluru & Karnataka.
Deeply inspired by Shri Narendra Modi’s vision & leadership, he worked relentlessly as grassroots karyakarta. As a part of Namo Brigade, he addressed 100+ gatherings across Karnataka spreading the message of Shri Narendra Modi & the BJP.
As BJYM Karnataka General Secretary, Surya organized campaigns like “Midnight Freedom Run” to mobilize the youth of Bengaluru under leadership of Shri Pratap Simha. He helped organize mass protests like “Mangalore Chalo” against political killings of BJP workers in Karnataka.
As a lawyer, Surya fought for the rights of poor sugarcane farmers by successfully leading a legal team at the Karnataka High Court. He also represented & secured justice for many pro India voices who were unfairly targeted by the Congress State Government.
As BJP’s Spokesperson and in-charge of its Digital Communications Team, Surya played a key role during Karnataka Assembly Elections. He took up many legal battles for the party and its karyakartas.
Before taking oath as an MP, Surya visited & paid respects at the National War Memorial, in reverence & gratitude to our fallen soldiers. As a fervent supporter of the Armed Forces, he continues to draw inspiration from their valour & sacrifice.
For Surya, educating young citizens has always remained close to his heart. From his Arise India days to his current project BEST (Bengaluru South Education & Social Transformation), he has kept taking strides for improving education and learning.
From leading flood relief operations to shaping tech-driven solutions to handle COVID better, Surya has always relied on the use of technology to address large scale problems.
As MP of B’luru South, Surya has raised important issues in Parliament, with special focus on youth. From National & data security to startups, from banking reforms to farmers’ interests, Surya shaped discussions in bills aimed at protecting common citizens.
Responding to COVID-19, he operationalized a task force. Developing digital platforms to deliver essentials, linking docs to provide home case & setting up a helpline for vulnerable populations, Surya led the response by infusing technology & forging partnerships.
Recognising his organisational abilities and commitment towards inculcating the values of nationalism among the youth, the BJP nominated him as the National President of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, the youth wing of the party.
With the nation hit by the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, Surya was at the forefront of the battle against the virus. He operationalised 4 defunct hospitals, set up an MP Oxy Bank with more than 800 oxygen concentrators, contributed to reforms in the BBMP hospital bed booking system and helped in providing greater access to vaccines for the citizens of Bengaluru South.
The BJYM, under the leadership of its National President Shri Tejasvi Surya, developed a country-wide free teleconsultation platform called the BJYM Doctor Helpline. Shri JP Nadda, National President of the BJP, launched the service, which benefited more than 70,000 people.
